resolution vs. intention for 2012

resolution (noun) : the act or process of resolving: as

- a : the act of analyzing a complex notion into simpler ones

- b : the act of answering : solving 

- c : the act of determining

 

intention (noun)

- 1 : a determination to act in a certain way: resolve

- 2 : import, significance

- 3 a : what one intends to do or bring about

--  b : the object for which a prayer, mass, or pious act is offered

 

working on something between these two...

overwhelmed

Merriam-Webster defines overwhelmed as follows

1: upset, overthrow

2: a: to cover over completely : submerge; b: to overcome by superior force or numbers; c: to overpower in thought or feeling

The second definition applies to me. It is a combination of outside forces - recent tasks at work, class for work, training for work, this thing, that project and the other things. None of these items can individually take me on - they have to gang up and work together to be effective in submerging me in their clutter of chaos.

How combat and beat down these outside forces is my challenge - not to overcome, but to prohibit them from smothering me. Keep them in check.
